Martin Molin was born in Goteborg, Sweden, in the 1980's. He founded a band with 3 other people, using entirely hand built instruments. These included the Theremin, Modulin, Punch Card Music Box and a Slide Projector.

In 2016, Martin uploaded a YouTube video of his newest instrument, the Marble Machine. It worked like a music box, with the music being programmable on the main central wheel using pins to trigger each note or instrument. It was built mainly of plywood and metal wire, and was powered entirely by marbles.

The machine was clearly handmade, and broke beyond use after it's first performance. Starting in 2017, he began building a better version, which he calls the Marble Machine X (MMX).
